Dell's U2718Q fit my needs perfectly. Initially I hooked this monitor up to my MacBook Pro 2015 and enjoyed the retina fonts, but I soon noticed something was amiss: the greens were way too limey. It turns out that the DisplayPort and mini-DisplayPort connections default to having HDR enabled even when receiving an SDR signal. Unfortunately, there is no Apple DDM. Check the supported operating system list on the UP2718Q driver page. When you change from a Windows operating system to either Apple Mac OS or Apple MAC OS 9, the DDM listing goes away. While I understand the Mac OS isn't officially supported by Dell, it would still be good to know if and when a future firmware update for the U2718Q will correct this problem permanently. We simply check the U2718Q drivers page. As of today, the only firmware update was M2B102. Which could only be run from the Windows operating system. Which Mac do you use to connect Dell? Maybe you mentioned it but I'm lazy to read. I had some experiments with Mac minis 2012 and 2014 with 10.11/12/13 and yes all the time U2718Q was at 3840x2160 with tiny elements/symbols as default for the display. No way to get HiDPI picture unless 1920x1080. Rest of upper resolutions are fuzzy. Get drivers and downloads for your Dell Dell U2718Q. Download and install the latest drivers, firmware and software.

I've got a Dell P2217 monitor and I'm trying to connect a Macbook to it from the laptop's HDMI output to the monitor's HDMI input. I've tried it on two different Macbooks, but the monitor says it's not receiving a signal. I've tried holding the power button on the monitor for 10+ sec with everything unplugged and resetting the macbook settings (command-option P R). I haven't tried another HDMI cable, so that could be the issue, but are these even compatible to begin with?
